Who Recruited You

Please tell us more about who recruited you for ATC. Please tell us the name of the faith community, community organization, civic association, corporation or nonprofit you are a part of. Or, let us know if you are a City employee or if you signed up on your own.

How did you Hear about ATC

How did you learn about ATC? (Example: Your community or faith organization, the Mayor's Initiative, Comcast , newspaper, current tutor etc.)

Please tell us if you need a tutoring partner.

The ATC model is based on each student in the Book Buddies and Reading Readiness program being tutored two 30 minute sessions per week so that each child is tutored a minimum of 20 hours between fall and the end of May.

1. The best arrangement for a child in both program is if one volunteer tutors a child two 30 minute periods.

2. The next best arrangement is for two volunteers who know each other to sign up together and each tutors the same child one 30 minute period a week.

3. In both the Book Buddies and Reading Readiness Programs you are expected to try to find a substitute if, for whatever reason, you cannot tutor.

4. At the beginning of the tutoring year, your school's Book Buddies or Reading Readiness coordinator will explain how to handle finding a substitute.

Please understand that ATC's 2014-15 schedule below may change in 2015-16. However, in order to recruit enough volunteers who are ready to start tutoring all students selected for tutoring in early October, please choose your preferred school now. Receipt of your application will automatically be acknowledged. Toward the end of August, I will e-mail a welcome to the 2015-16 tutoring year that will include the confirmed list of schools and tutoring times. If there are any adjustments you need to make in your assignment, you may make them at that time.
