ATC Tutor Registration Form

New Tutors should complete the Alexandria Tutoring Consortium (ATC) registration form below and the Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) volunteer application that follows. The submission of the ACPS application triggers a background check good for 12 months. Please call ATC's Executive Director at 703-549-6670, ext. 119 if you need help completing the ATC forms.

When your background check is complete, Linda Rodriguez of ACPS will notify you. Please make an appointment to visit the Family and Community Engagement (FACE) office at the ACPS central office, 1340 Braddock Place, 7th floor to verify your identification (bring a driver's license or government-issued identification) and to receive a volunteer badge. You will be asked to sign an ACPS Volunteer Code of Conduct and Expectations. Office hours are Tuesday to Thursday from 10 am to 6 pm or by appointment.

For New Tutors only, after submitting the ATC form, please complete the ACPS volunteer form at https://alexandria.keepntrack.com/apply

Note: the ACPS volunteer form does not work if activated from a mobile device; please register from a computer.

Returning Tutors should complete the ATC registration form, but not the ACPS volunteer application linked to the end of the ATC form. The ACPS background check must be completed again one year after your application was approved previously. Volunteers are notified by ACPS about one month before the expiration of their original approval date and a request is made to run a new  background check. To continue to volunteer, you must respond with written consent.  Also, a new ACPS Code of Conduct and Expectations will be sent to you to sign and return. If it has been more than 11 months since your badge was approved and you have not heard from ACPS or your badge no longer works, email a request for a new background check with your name and badge number to Linda Rodriguez, as noted below.

New and Returning Tutors with background check questions should call 703-619-8055 or contact Linda Rodriguez, This email address is being protected from spambots. The ATC model is based on each student being tutored two 30-minute sessions per week for first graders and two 20-minute sessions for kindergartners with additional time for walking back and forth to the tutoring location. The tutoring options are:

1. One volunteer tutors a student two different days of the week.

2. Two volunteers are paired by the coordinator (or two people register together) to tutor the same student on two different days of the week.
