Be a Book Buddy reading tutor for a K-2nd grade student!
Here’s what’s involved:
- ATC staff members will train you on how to conduct a tutoring session and will be available to offer guidance and support throughout the school year.
- ATC staff will provide all materials for your use, including individually targeted lesson plans and materials.
- All tutors work one-on-one with students (an ACPS background check is required).
- A tutor commits to working with a student:
- Once or twice weekly
- In 30- to 45-minute sessions
- From October through May
- In the child’s school* (8:00 – 2:30, Mondays – Thursdays)
*We tutor in all Alexandria City Public Elementary Schools
